CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FIRST ANNUAL
SSGT RICHARD K. METRO COLLEGE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT!
It is an honor to award this year’s check of $1,000 to Caitlin. She is an exceptional young lady who was born in Warwick NY, lived in Vernon, New Jersey and has been a resident of Pinehurst/Whispering Pines, North Carolina for over the past 10 years.
Caitlin is beginning her sophomore year at North Carolina State University and is majoring in Chemical Engineering.
She has many accomplishments, many which have been through academic achievements, such as; Excellence in Honors in Algebra 2, Geometry,Journalism, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, AP Environmental Science and AP English. In her Senior year in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society, a Senior Mentor and graduated 5thin her class, of over 300 students, while holding a weighted GPA of 4.5.
Her hobbies and extracurricular activities include; swimming, kayaking, reading, camping and she has studied piano at the Trinity Music Academy for five and a half years, where she participated in Christmas concerts, worship services, end of the year recitals and multiple competitions where she placed first, second, and third.
We would also like to take his opportunity to thank all of those individuals who applied for the scholarship and to encourage each and every one of them to continue with their studies, not to be discouraged and invite them to reapply again next year.
